About Nicaragua

Nicaragua, the country of lakes and volcanoes, officially called the Republic of Nicaragua, is the largest nation in Central America. There are approximately 5.7 million people living in Nicaragua. The capital Managua is the most populous city. Although Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America it is the least densely populated.

Nicaragua is bordered to the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the east by the Caribbean Sea. It has a tropical climate and a friendly ambiance.

Nicaragua is easy to reach by plane from many U.S. cities and practically all Central American countries. The highways and main roads are in good condition.

Granada

The beautiful colonial town of Granada has what a lot of people are looking for. It is widely known for preserving some of the finest colonial-era architecture in the country. Laguna De Apoyo

Laguna de Apoyo is a nature reserve with a pristine crater lake. It’s crystal clear with lukewarm water and is perfect for swimming, kayaking, sailing and even diving. The lush crater edge is impressive and full of wildlife such as an amazing variety of birds, howler monkey and white-faced monkeys.

It’s conveniently situated only 20 minutes away from the colonial center of Granada, 40 minutes from Managua and the country’s best hospital, and a 45 minute drive to airport.

Owning real estate in Laguna de Apoyo is very exclusive. Due to the strict environmental rules you are not allowed to build new structures. You are only allowed to build a new home on old footprints or to remodel an existing home.
